African Savanna Elephant
The African Savanna Elephant (Loxodonta africana) is the bigger of the two species of African elephants. It is a herbivorous animal where the females and their young make large social groups whilst the adult males live solitary until they find receptive females. This species is known as vulnerable due to poaching and habitat destruction, however in some places of Southern Africa the populations are increasing due to conservation efforts.
